Overview:
This role is for a Chef Instructor in Khobar, Saudi Arabia, focused on mentoring aspiring chefs and shaping culinary standards within a state-of-the-art teaching environment, contributing to culinary craftsmanship and holistic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Comprehensive Culinary Instruction: Teach and train students across all major kitchen sections (hot kitchen, cold kitchen, butchery, pastry, bakery, garde manger, etc.). Provide hands-on demonstrations and guidance covering a wide spectrum of culinary techniques, tools, and preparation styles.
- Curriculum Development & Instructional Design: Develop and refine lesson plans, recipes, training guides, and practical assessments that reflect real-world kitchen operations. Contribute to continuous improvement of the curriculum to ensure it remains industry-relevant and globally aligned.
- Student Supervision & Mentorship: Lead practical sessions, offering clear guidance and structured learning experiences. Mentor and coach students, fostering professional behaviour, kitchen discipline, and a strong work ethic. Evaluate student performance and offer constructive feedback to support their growth and readiness for industry placements.
- Kitchen Standards & Safety Compliance: Uphold and enforce kitchen cleanliness, organisation, and safety standards at all times. Maintain accurate inventory of tools, ingredients, and equipment within the teaching kitchens.
- Team Collaboration & Institutional Engagement: Collaborate closely with fellow instructors to deliver integrated and immersive learning experiences. Participate in academy-led events, culinary demonstrations, and internal training initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Formal culinary education with well-rounded expertise across all major kitchen sections.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in high-volume, professional culinary environments.
- Experience teaching, mentoring, or training culinary students or junior chefs is highly preferred.
- Strong ability to demonstrate and explain diverse techniques, from classical to modern.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organised, adaptable, and committed to student success and culinary excellence.
- Proficiency in both Arabic and English is an advantage.
