Overview
We are seeking a 2025-style builder who leverages AI tools to rapidly transform ideas into working products. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work across data, backend, and UI, focusing on shipping small features quickly, learning continuously, and iterating based on direct feedback in a fast-paced startup environment.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Prototype and ship user-facing features using cutting-edge AI coding tools (e.g., Windsurf, Cursor, Continue, Copilot, or similar).
- Build end-to-end RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation)-backed features, encompassing data ingestion, efficient retrieval/answering mechanisms, and intuitive UI/UX design.
- Create small APIs and utilities, set up simple dashboards, and implement basic logging and metrics.
- Systematically evaluate your builds through quick checks, rubrics, and user feedback, demonstrating the ability to pivot rapidly when results necessitate.
- Debug issues systematically by reading errors, narrowing the search space, and documenting solutions for future reference.
What We're Looking For (Required Qualifications)
- Comfortable reading and writing TypeScript; Python is a significant plus.
- Solid understanding of web fundamentals including HTTP, JSON, and Git.
- Possess a strong product mindset, demonstrating UX sensibility and a pragmatic approach to project scope.
- Fluency with AI coding tools and modern reasoning models, coupled with the ability to verify and refine AI-generated outputs effectively.
- A strong bias towards learning, shipping, and communicating clearly within a dynamic startup environment.
Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications)
- Basic experience with Node.js or Next.js.
- Familiarity with simple SQL operations.
- Exposure to any vector, search, or storage tools.
- Basic understanding of testing principles and light DevOps practices (e.g., Docker, GitHub Actions).
What Success Looks Like (First 30-60 Days)
- Successfully ship 1-2 user-visible features powered by retrieval/answering mechanisms.
- Demonstrate a repeatable AI-assisted workflow, showcasing measurable before-and-after improvements.
- Successfully resolve at least one complex bug by systematically narrowing the search space and documenting the resolution path.
