Overview
Based out of Pune, India, the Network Engineer will be responsible for analysis, recommendations, implementation, and placing best practices for the Enterprise network environment. This role is an L3 Network Consultant position involved in various projects and major incident management. The engineer will also mentor and guide a team, participate in architecture reviews, and delivery meetings.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for analysis, recommendations, implementation and placing the best practices to the Enterprise network environment including all the network routers, switches, Cisco ACI, ISE, virtualization, load balancers, wireless products.
- Working as L3 Network Consultant, dealing with different projects on a need basis or to address any major incidents.
- Responsible to mentor & guide the team of 6-7 members for operational work and career progression.
- Work with the lead and the service delivery managers to participate in architecture review and delivery meetings.
- Translate business requirements into Network infrastructure solutions.
- Provide guidance to the Architecture team, HLD and LLD improvements or solutions to a customer network solution.
- Refine specifications with technical colleagues and delivery partners.
- Consult with infrastructure and security architects.
- Responsible for enterprise network analysis and contributing to the corresponding strategy for Migration.
- Engage regularly and effectively with IT stakeholders to drive key decisions and prioritisation.
- Ensure adherence to Security policy and best practice identified as Bank policies and CIS standards.
- Promote knowledge sharing and cross-training within the teams and rest of IT.
- Undertake any other work as specified by Senior IT management.
- Drive major incidents, architect forums.
Requirements
- Strong background in enterprise and datacentre technologies in large-scale deployments.
- Minimum 8-15 years’ of experience providing support to enterprise level clients (Stated primary requirement is 10-12 Years of exp).
- Detailed technical knowledge on Cisco ACI, ISE, Nexus technology, Cisco/Aruba wireless devices, load balancer, WAN technologies, software-defined/virtualised networking, unified networking, multi-context networking devices.
- Experience in the operation, implementation and support of ACI and ISE.
- In-depth experience of Cisco networking products backed up by a current CCIE certification (desirable).
- Ability to troubleshoot complex, technical, multi-site and multi-disciplinary problems.
- Ability to audit and understand customer’s network environment using various market toolsets and provide recommendations in line with industry best practice.
- Experience in multiple Cloud data centre implementations and support (desirable).
- Ability to demonstrate Infrastructure focus as well as understanding of Cloud based operations and Service model including Container deployments and associated networking.
- Experience of infrastructure as code, network automation and orchestration toolsets.
- Proven understanding of what is required to establish a robust operational cloud environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Must know how to manage techy team members and customers.
- Should have good technical written and verbal communication.
- Willingness to work in UK shifts and sometimes on weekends too (in case of major issues).
